Oracle Coherence Consultant – TheGridMan.com
A Bit More About Me

I am an independent Oracle Coherence consultant and developer. I have been building data grid systems based on Oracle Coherence for a number of companies since 2005. My background is in software design and development, which I have been doing professionally since 1990. Since 1999 I have been pretty much solidly developing in Java, with a small amount of other things thrown in now and again.
I am a regular at the London Oracle Coherence SIG, which I have presented at a few times, and poster on the Oracle Coherence forums. I contributed to the design of the security functionality that was released with Oracle Coherence 3.6.
After school and college I spent a few years in the Royal Navy, where I did an engineering apprenticeship. After a couple more electronics based jobs I eventually moved into software engineering in 1990. My first development job was using IBM mainframe COBOL, which I did for about 5 years. Next I moved on to a 4GL called PowerBuilder and from that on to Java. My Linked-In profile:

The Non-Techie Stuff
For those interested in non-techie stuff. I live in London, England. I am married, my wife’s name is Nil. She is Turkish, we married there in 2000. She is a project manager for a bank in London. Eventually, in not too many more years, we will move over there – or earlier if anyone wants to do data grids in Turkey.
My wife wanted a picture of herself on my blog so this is a picture of my wife in Instanbul, Turkey.
